SNOOPY is a people dog! He simply prefers being around humans than dogs. SNOOPY went to a crowded boarding facility right after being rescued so his rescuers are still discovering his personality.
SNOOPY's family gave him away to the concierge of their building when they decided to move. The man started beating SNOOPY every time he barked and left him tied up outside the building without shelter. SNOOPY slept in the dirt and had no protection from rain or harsh sun. This poor little fellow had lost his family and was now chained and isolated. Some residents of the building contacted Gaia Fodoulian Associaition rescuers who took him under their care. He was treated by a veterinarian and eventually groomed.
We suspect SNOOPY is still confused and heartbroken at being abandoned by his former family. He was physically abused and now resides in a very crowded and noisy shelter which is causing him some anxiety. He cheers up only when someone comes to visit him to take walks or play with him.
SNOOPY would do best as an only dog. He will need a patient adopter who will give him time to decompress and get used to living in a home again. SNOOPY truly wants nothing more than to find his loving Forever Home!
Personality: Social with people, playful, nervous/anxious, independent, some resource guarding around other dogs.
Currently lives at a paid boarding facility (outdoors with a doghouse for shelter).
