LUNA is currently in Lebanon. Once we find an adopter for her, she will come to Canada.
LUNA is a sweet, very affectionate and cuddly girl. She looks stunning in the sunlight as light makes her fur look on fire. Her best trait is that she loves to give hugs. If you keep on cuddling her, she will stay in your arms for hours! She enjoys long hikes in the woods and is usually a calm dog.
LUNA used to roam the streets of Derkwene in Lebqnon. She minded her own business but always looked like she was looking for someone or something. It was difficult to approach her as she was very fearful of humans. Her rescuer later found out she was often chased and hurt by people. One witness saw her get hit by a car (she just limped around afterward) while another witness saw her being beaten by children with sticks.
Over time some people felt sorry for her and started leaving food and water for her. Her rescuer tried for a year to get close to her. She would bring LUNA chicken and jerky. Eventually, LUNA let her rescuer pet her on the head but every time someone tried to touch her anywhere else she would give a loud screech and run away. Eventually, it became urgent to take her off the street as some people wanted to hurt her because she was sleeping in front of buildings. It took 4 months to capture her! She was taken to a veterinarian clinic and then placed in a boarding facility. Her rescuer visits her often and hopes LUNA can find a Forever Home soon.
Personality: Friendly, social with people, social with dogs, affectionate, playful, trusting.
Her rescuer works with her on leash walking and reestablishing LUNA's trust in people. This girl would benefit from a patient and experienced adopter who can continue her training and let her grow into the loyal companion we know she can be!
Currently lives at a paid boarding facility.
