ASAD is currently in Lebanon. Once we find an adopter for him, he will come to Canada.
ASAD means "lion" in Arabic. And this handsome, older boy, wears his name well. His remarkable story is sure to melt your heart.
ASAD was a street dog who lived in the same neighborhood for many years. He was loved by many of the people living there and held the esteemed title of "Children's Protector". ASAD would accompany the children to school on a daily basis and he was cherished for the way he watched over them when they played in the streets. ASAD also took under his wing a young female dog and her puppies (MILANA - see her profile for more information). Unfortunately, the neighborhood started to change and street dogs became targets of violent abuse. Even puppies were poisoned. One day ASAD defended himself against a man trying to abuse him. The man flew into a rage and would have gravely harmed ASAD had it not been for the courage of a young girl who protected ASAD and called GAEA Animal Welfare for help. GAEA rescuers didn't hesitate and removed ASAD and MILANA from the unsafe environment.
ASAD is currently staying at an outdoor boarding facility which is not an ideal environment for him. ASAD misses MILANA who is now in Canada and we hope someone notices him and decides to adopt him soon. ASAD urgently needs to find a loving Forever Home (his very first home) where he can live the rest of his life with the dignity and tranquility he deserves.
